How long is it since they filmed the series ??? I think it was very high risk and agree that too much hinged on the patent pending. I know there are a lot more checks are done on the businesses after the actual golden handshake and a few don't go ahead off camera.

One of my counterparts at the competition works with Peter Jones and say its quite funny because they always got these people in with the products and they often get tried out around the office.

Will try and find out tmrw but looking at the site i reckon its a no because previous successful companies have always had huge news articles about dragons den on their site.

still alot of pages under construction on the site, off to check dragons den site

I think if the patent stands up and is how he described it, that it covers ALL soft/cuddly toys and not just specific to "teddy bears" then I think it should do pretty well.

Was is Peter Jones who suugested that if they could get Disney on board it would be a major coup?

I think there's one major flaw with it. It's in a kids toy and invaribly Teddy Bears get chucked about, stamped on, dropped and so on. I don't think a media player of any description would stand up to the kind of punishment most soft toys get.

All they need is something similar to the ipod nano screen issue and it would probably wipe a small company out if there's a massive recall.

It isn't going to work. Kids want teddies... as in character friends. They don't want some robocop type thing that can play the sugerbabes out of its ass!

There has been products like this before and it they have failed miserably too.

Now, give me some Reggae, Reggae sauce!

Basically an updated 1980s Teddy Ruxpin!! My fave toy when I was a kid.

The one advantage of Teddy R was that his mouth moved to the voice of the story! Very creepy seeing it nowdays.

I reckon Peter Jones mentioned the Disney thing, to put himself in a better position to try and crack a deal, he never said he had contacts but implied it.

Have you noticed recently, they all too scared too commit to a deal. They all want to go halvies with someone else. I'm sure they didn't get where they are without taking some risks.........

So if anybody has got a good deal and wants to go halvies.........

Does anyone know how many previous deals have actually made them enough money to warrant the high risk short term investments ? If its a low percentage then maybe thats why they split all the deals, after all when you have that much money you dont want to just give it all away.

I can only recall the bedlam cube puzzle suddenly appearing in shops near here.

Bedlam cube changed his mind a few days after he did the Dragon's thing. In the end he went it alone. I think he only done the show for some free TV!

There has been a few successes... They do a dragons special now and again, showing what happened afterwards. However, I can't remember any of the details.

i agree, be interesting as to how many deals are successful. althought i doubt they will say if they just spent a small wod of their cash in something that fell straight on its arse

They still get the same percentage return if they go halves or all by themselves though, so the percentage loss/risk is still the same. I think its more to do with they each have their own area of expertise and its not as much work if they go in with some other proffesionals.
