    Default tv tuner card problem

when trying to connect my cable connection to my tuner card it knocks out all the sockets in my flat, this only happens with the cable, i can connect my vcr to it but not if the cable is connected to that, i have managed to get it to stop knocking everything by stripping back the coax and not letting the outter layer of copper wiring touch either of the connectors but the quality media center picks up is woeful, im not quite sure as to the make of the tuner card as it came with my pc, the pc is a hp m7680.uk. its a bog standard tuner card with just a coax in. cheers if anyone can help.

Default Re: tv tuner card problem

are you sure the card can handle cable? Coax in could just be for standard terrestrial or maybe even freeview...

lol, 1st result in google (uk) when your search your model numeber is kelkoo, from there you can view specifications of your PC, in particular your tuner card, which is listed as DVB-T (or freeview as it's more commonly known) you will need a DVB-C tuner for cable
