hi can anyone help please i have just put a pc together and installed all the drivers etc it has 8 usb ports 6 on the back 2 on the front of the case when i put a printer in any of them there fine when i put a usb 4gb pen stick in any of them it will not recognize it @ all tryed a 256mb and a 512mb the motherboard is a Asus P4C800 E Deluxe when it boots up it says [bios not installed] i have updated the bios useing asus liveupdate and it says installed fine reboot still says [bios not installed] any idears would be greatfull thx steve

the bios not installed issue is to do with the ide raid
if there are no hard drives using those ide channels it allways reports as the bios not being installed nothing to worry about and nothing to do with the normal motherboard bios

in the bios settings there is an option to set the usb ports at full speed also to switch some of the usb ports on or off
have you had a look in there to make sure there all on and at full speed ?

i have one of these m/boards in my pc and have never had a problem with usb sticks but saying that i havn't tried a 4 gig one but i have tried external hard drives , various phones , printers etc.. with no prioblem

yes m8 usb setting all switch on in the bios lol its all working for some reason turn it on today to try and have another go and it worked mmmmm strange
