Firefox - can't stay logged into DF????

Have recently removed 4000 "trojan horse droppers" from my pc thanks to AVG

However everything is a bit strange now, no passwords are remembered at all. Yahoo mail - I enter user/pass then tick to remember an it remembers 9I dont have to log in each time) but on here I entered my password then ticked to remember, it then says "Soundoffaz, you are being logged in etc." then I just get taken staright back to the log in page again??

Have checked tools-internet options and everything is as it should be ie. the "remember passwords" on the passwords tab is ticked.

The only way I've managed to log in for this and my last thread is by requesting a new password then, for some reason after activating the new password I stay logged in. As soon as I browse away though and come back, same problem!!

I'm using Firefox, I'm sure it's something and nothing.

Can anyone help please?

Wipe your cookies and cache, that should fix it.

However, I wouldn't be so sure that avg got everything, what other protection software are you running? Do you have an antispyware?

It seems to be working ok now, I've browsed away and come back and I'm still logged in....for now LOL

I dont have any antispyware, did have Mcafee but it expired.

Can you recommend any?

If you're using XP then get yourself windows defender, do a full scan with both defender and AVG (again) to make sure you're clear.

Still having trouble remembering my passord in here, I log in then get take nback to the log in page again, I have cleared cookies & cache (oh and I already have all those programs for anti spyware)

why don't you just wipe firefox and reinstall it? or is that too obvious

Have you done the virus checks etc etc and then turned off system restore and re boot.

It maybe that any problems you have are being kept in system restore point and therefore keep coming back after a re-boot.

Fixed it, I just added DF's URL to the "exceptions" list in my cookies settings so DF is "never allowed to use cookies", It works fine
