At the end of the day this program is a piece of journalism and, like any journalism, should be taken with a pinch of salt.

We shouldn't forget, however, that it's the same journalism that has been filling our heads with global warming theory as 'fact' for some time.

I think this program has been an important piece to make it clear that there is still a scientific debate to be had about this theory of global warming and it is far from 'fact' as yet.

I would generally be inclined to go with the balance of overall scientific opinion on the matter. What I am uncomfortable with in this case is the huge amount of political motivation for the theory to be correct. The government funds all the research which is a pretty unhealthy combination for a 'balanced scientific argument' in my eyes.

Surely public funding is preferrable to corporate or private funding. You're never going to get any research completed without someone wanting to twist the results to match their agenda, however, I'm more likely to trust publicly funded research than the alternatives.

To try and suggest that the last 100-200 years of burning shit out of dirty big factories hasn't had any negative impact is ridiculous. So even if we aren't the FULL reason behind the high temps we should at least try to control how much shit we release into the atmosphere
