Help fail on int 24 dos message when flashing

can anyone please help??? i get this message in dos all the time when trying to flash my ms-25 drive (using commands xread and samread in 2 diff versions xtreme) i am using a usb bootdisk which i am sure i have configured correctly and also i have a sata card with vt6421a chipset and i have also have 4 sata on my mobo - tried em all - still the same!) does anyone know what it means? i think its having trouble writing my orig.bin to the usb for whatever reason. my hd on my computer (which i am not booting from am i?) is ntfs - not fat, surely this has nothing to do with it as i am booting from usb formated in fat? HELPPPP MEEEEEEE..........

try a pc that doesn't have onboard sata as they sometimes conflict with the card, mine does

personally I always use floppy, done hundreds with a floppy but I'm sure others will shout how they wouldn't trust a floppy not to fail whilst flashing. But you are trying to do a sammy so even if it did go tits up whilst flashing, the drive is always recoverable with the sata card you have

just make sure you read the fw first and verify that it has read correctly and you have the drive key, do that and you can't go wrong. Which is why I refuse to use samread and absolutely make sure the fw has been read correctly before attempting to write anything at all back to the drive

all done mate have a bit of K for your help. i took out my new sata card i was told to buy and used my onboard sata WITH A FLOPPY!!! the usb drive must have been the key to it not working, all was well making the usb but as far as i can see, dos couldnt write to the usb evan though it could boot with it which is why i could not backup my fw. so now i just need to keep my 2 files that are in the directories it made in "backups" huh? thanks for all you help mate (and everyone else) i am now gonna put it back together (hopefully it will work!) and try and burn some stuff so no doubt i will be on asking questions again! thanks again

lol yeah sorry m8 completly forgot to answer that

fail on int 24 is failure to write to either hd/floppy etc so as you figured out, it was struggling writing to your flash drive
