    Default New Samsung D900

I have just received a nice new shiney Samsung D900 mobile, just wanted to ask a couple of questions.

    1) Trying to turn off the key tone sound, it is the only option under the sound sub menu that is locked so i can't get into the menu. Does anyone know how to open this menu.

    2) When the slide is open there seems to be a little bit of play between to two parts of the phone, nothing serious but i expected it to be nice and ridged, the slide motion is nice and smooth. Is this normal with these types of phones. This is the first slide phone i've had.

    Cheers

Hi m8, by the sounds of it the handset is network branded. The network may have had the sw designed so you cannot turn off the sound. You should get around this by debranding the handset with the generic firmware.

As for the play in the slide. This is perfectly normal for there to be some play, but if it seems a bit too much then send it back.

Alternatively, you could just go into Phone Settings/Display Settings/Dialling Display/Font Type and set it to Normal.

Voila! You can now access Keypad Tones.
If you can smell it, it's in your mouth.

Have you tried the silver up and down button on the left of the phone as you look at it. That should turn it off.
