Woking axe Cockerill and Crossley
Cockerill has left his side in 14th place in the Conference table
Woking have sacked manager Glenn Cockerill and assistant Matt Crossley, reports BBC Southern Counties Radio. Cockerill replaced Geoff Chapple as caretaker manager at Kingfield in October 2002, being confirmed as boss the following month.
Captain Neil Smith and coach Graham Baker take charge for Saturday's trip to Morecambe and will remain at the helm for the rest of the season.
Cards chairman John Buchanan has also stepped down.

About fucking time too!!! Under Chapple we played good football, regularly challenged for the top Conference honours, had some good cup runs, and would have made the play off places had they existed back then. Cockerill has had 5 years during which Woking have just gone backwards and usually ended up fighting relegation battles!
Lets hope they bring in someone decent who can make sure we don't drop down any further this season, and look forward to next season with some hope!
