    Default Pressure Washer

Hey - I'm after a pressure washer to use to clean the wall around our garden from moss and general crap that's built up over the winter. I'm not too in the know about what spec I'll need for this though (ie, what PSI..) - Has anyone any info or suggestion of an appropriate model? Pref pretty cheap too, lol!

    Cheers!

I don't know about the expensive pressure washers but the cheap ones are very slow at blasting clean stuff. The problem is that the pressure spot that hits the ground is only a line approx 5mm thick and 2 cm wide.
Doing a large area with something that small soon gets very tiresome

I've a bluepoint one I got off a snap on dealer and its great, the small karcher ones you get from b+q etc have a limited motor life and aren't very good tbh.
Also you need to make sure your hose is a good one as cheap ones get sucked flat by the suction from the machine and stop the water flow.

I paid £60 for that one m8, its fookin shite.

It did a great job when i got it for cleaning the patios, amazing power...etc, but all of a sudden the connection were the hose meets the washer bust, straight after the warranty had expired. Well pissed off. Unrepairable and its a common fault with the cheap ones apparantly.

Got too say that my karcher has been top notch and I have had it now for nearly 10yrs and the ONLY problem I have had(touch wood) was in the first month I got it..Cost me about £150 and always does the job..BUT I would say m8,I used it for cleaning a wall and it takes away the chips, mortar etc on it..I didnt expect it to do this but they can be quite powerful..You can buy a cleaner for brick, its like an acid but make sure the kids if you have any arent around as its pretty lethal stuff..I poured this over some brick work, left a few hours then blasted it off and worked pretty well...but Karcher for me and they are pretty cheap nowadays..thinks mines is 110psi...

What warranty has it got? 12 months? To be honest, if it works great but then fucks up after 12 months I ain't too bothered - £30, you can't expect anything great for that price and I can't really afford to be paying massive amounts more... It's not for cleaning a massive area really, just a wall that's about 30ft long and a max height of 5ft. Might do a few other things like bottom few bricks of house if I can be bothered, just to clean it up a bit...

Not going to be using it much - just do that stuff arond the house then maybe clean the cars once every so often with it...

    Cheers peeps!

Yes m8, it was excellent when it worked, it took the nasty film off my patios (a years worth of weathered grime) and i have 3 large patios.

It would easily do the job you need it for m8

There's one on sale from thursday at aldi, they're also selling this patio cleaning attachment:

Has anyone tried one of these patio/wall cleaner attachments? I think it has a rotating part in the middle that the water is sprayed from.
No sympathy for the devil; keep that in mind. Buy the ticket, take the ride...

    Go for this

110 bar which is over 1400 psi and worth it for the attachments and free delivery. You'll spend 60 quid on a cheap one plus attachments (casue everyone has to accessorize)

personally, i wouldn't bother with the karcher models, we have a couple at work and they get replaced every couple of moths due to breaking down, they get used about 2-3 times a day for 5 mins max. at home i have a kew which has been pretty reliable and a decent pressure so i could recommend one of their models.
