It's obvious it's nicked... but would you buy it?

Mate rang me just now, asking me if I wanted to buy something, boxed as new, never used but no come backs, receipt etc.. at a right silly price and no where near it's true retail value and I was tempted, but can't spare the cash so couldn't.
If someone offered me something 'second hand' that had been used/battered etc.. I would probably try and ram it as far up the 'sellers' arse as I could as it's probably from a burglary... but boxed, new, never used, and lots available lol... hmmm.

I used to nick stuff with my friend at school, we taxed from surf shops while we bunked off school, had more of those animal watch straps than I knew what to do with, as sun glasses, wallets, caps, stickers, anything small really. I didn't care at the time but I didn't care about anything.

turns out it was really selfish and totally immoral. I'd like to think I'm a honest citizen now. I have had quite a lot of trust put into me, and I appreciate it, so it's unfair to turn that around on those who gave you a chance.

Stealing is bad but I guess if it's from ebay you'd never know anyway, so it's too tough these days anyway.

I know when I lost my bike I felt like shit, but earned the money to pay for another one.

If people didn't buy stollen stuff, the crime would halve to just people who steal for themselves, which is probably even less than half!

Its all about supply and demand. I have been burgled and I was absolutely gutted when it happened, but if I had been offered a set of technics a couple of days before which were too cheap to be legit, I would have snapped them up, and still would.

lol dont mention easter eggs , last year my old man stocked up at one of the supermarkets and had a whole back seat full of eggs, he stopped off at a m8s house
for 2 mins and left one of the back doors unlocked, as he was coming back out the house
he spotted 2 twenty odd year old smackheads lifting the bags of easter eggs out the car , but they had come on rather decent mountain bikes which they had laid down on the floor, he chased after the pair of them with a wheel brace, they didnt even get a chance to grab their bikes lol so my old man got 2 mountain bikes for gratis

But in answer to the question no I wouldnt buy stolen goods, you are gaining from someone elses misfortune, which one can only understand when they have been there themselves.

Truth be told the bikes were probably stolen too but what can you do. It was just nice to inconvienience the local thugs who wanted my old mans easter eggs lol probably to sell for 50p each or something so they could score a fivers weed.

Think id have pretty much anything thats nicked, most things are insured after all so I wouldnt feel too bad.
