updating samsung drive

ok i have just got a 360 with a samsung drive,

what am i going to need as i currently have the 360usb but heard it wont work with the samsung only hitachi drives.

my pc mobo is quite old qtech 4sdm2

dont have sata so what am i going to need to buy? also im looking for the easyest method.

You need to buy a sata pci card which has a via 6421a chipset onboard...ebay is your best bet and loads of peeps have hd them off this guy:

do you have to have your pc open all the time to flash this way?

i know the 360usb dont work for these but can anyone explane why?

no, not all the time, only when I need to flash!

The 360usb wont work because you need to flash the drive under MS-DOS (proper dos, not command prompt in windows), and you cant use USB when in DOS.

what if my SATA card has an external port on it?? Can i just connect the 360 to the external port or does it have to be an internal one??

why u use 5.2b? all your copies wont read at full speed if i am not mistaken??

yes your right, but it just means its nice & quiet, and all my backups read slow in my Hitachi with no problems, only difference might be waiting an extra 5/10 seconds for loading, but at least its quiet!

try crackdown, you will find the interlude video clips unbearable if your drive not running proper speed
