New Wii owner

My old mans just decided to get a Wii, but not having paid much attention to it i've no idea what games to get for it.

After a brief view of IGN it looks like Zelda and Rayman are safe bets. I also see it runs Gamecube games, and i'd love to get my hands on Mario Kart.

Is there a new Mario Kart coming out for the Wii and was that dodgy twin kart version on the gamecube the only one available?

What other games should i consider?

You can download mario cart from the online shop but you need a classic controller to play. (for a price dont know how much points are)

Gamecube controllers work on the Wii dont they?
Along with memory card.
Or is this what you mean by classic?

Which version of mariokart is that though? The original snes one or 64?

And i don't have any gamecube controllers either.

you can play double dash on it with a gc controller

Id say get Elebits, Excite Truck, Kororinpa, Rayman and Warioware. SSX and Godfather are pretty good too, although not my thang.

Theres loads of decent cube games to get hold of, depends on your taste in gaming.

The version of mariocart on the Virtual Console is the N64 one

the only games i have really enjoyed are zelda, excite truck, and maybe red steel (didn't finish that though!!)
