    Default IDE Hard Drive Enclosure

I took delivery of my new PC today and was disappointed to find that it didnt come with any IDE channels so i am unable to connect my old HDD's up to it.......... I dragged an old PCI IDE card that i had out and installed it but unfortunately it doesnt work with Vista.

Instead of getting an internal card i figured id get a external enclosure and put the hard drives in and out as i need them, That way i get too take it when i go to any like minded peoples house too

Just wondered if anyone had any experiences or can recommend one to me.......... I understand that some are both IDE and SATA and if this is the case for not a lot more money then that would be great.

Ive seen this but know shag all (and it doesnt have SATA)

Karama will be spread wide and far for any help given

if its just ide you could try one of these , both usb and lan connection for nas, you can probably get voucher codes for maplin as well.
or one of these for ide/sata but no lan.

Could you not just use a usb to ide converter to drag your data to the new machine? A lot cheaper and I use mine all the time, really useful.

Nice find, will get 1 of those myself, think he meant something a bit more portable though, hence the enclosure.

I use these lot a lot and they have never failed me. Reasonable prices and the occasional freebie when you buy something. I bought a 3.5" enclosure and got a 2.5 free last time.

Sold a few of these to customers and not had any issues. They look very nice as well if you get the blue illuminated ones
