I currently walk to the train station and home every day. Walking takes about 25 mins each way, which would be better for me to lose a few pounds, continue walking for use my bike.
Cheers

Personally I'd stick with walking, but ensure it's a brisk pace.
Cycling would help build your legs but you have to take into account freewheeling, where you wouldn't be peddling at all. The main issue if you want to lose a few pounds in weight is that if your heart rate gets too high you will burn muscle as opposed to walking at a brisk pace which will burn fat.
Then again you could even cycle 2 days and walk 3, the variety of types of exercise would be good.

I would say using your bike as it would get your heart rate up to a level where you would burn more caloires, either way is good for you. If you do decide to use your bike you could sidetrack and gradually make the distance that little bit longer building your fitness levels as riding a bike is quicker than walking. Just an idea.
Or as stated above a variety of both would probabley be better.
