Light Wind turns hot air into light

Light Wind is an innovative luminaire design concept you could keep on your patio to catch those summer breezes, gathering energy from the wind and giving you a bit of illumination at night. When conceiving its minimalist design, its Dutch creators took a cue from the windmills pumping water away from their low-lying country and out into the sea.

It's made of what its designers call "high-end sail fabric," along with stainless steel and wood. With its six-foot prop, it'll look like a gigantic propellerhead in your back yard. Set this sucker up and the neighbors will really wonder what you've been up to. Just tell them you've erected an idol to your patron saint. — Charlie White
