Help Setting up a remote PC?

Now this may not be the correct forum... and the title may not be exactly right either...

    But here it goes...

At work we have very tight security... Can't get on any gaming site, no MSN and a host of other blocked sites...

Is there a way to set up my computer at home as a type of webpage, so that I can log in through my browser and have it visit all the blocked sites and bypass the security at work....

Is there a piece of software I could use for this? Or could anyone suggest another way around it?

have you tried atunnel.com - this will disguise what websites you go to and bypass the security...

You could setup your PC at home so you can use it like your in front of it, using remote desktop. Unless that's blocked at work also.

VNC has a java aplet where it is accessable via a webpage. It does come in very much handy, and the good thing is that you can define which port to use

I can't change any settings on my work PC... as it is Webtop.. and locked down...

Haven't found a proxy that works... but will try the suggestions and let you know....

VNC looks promising... Will look into it further.

    logmein.com - Blocked
    atunnel.com - Blocked

Windows Remote Desktop connetion - No chance...

My company have rather a hot IT policy.

As for VNC... Do I need to install it on my work PC... As I cannot install any software... I want something which I can host and give a web or ftp address and log onto through IE. Obviously with a decent level of security... Does such a thing exist?

EDIT - Real VNC support browser logon... Thanks guys.

Get Ultravnc or TightVNC - the main version of VNc has been hacked.

I would say that your IT will also be blocking this and looking at what you install

You just need the viewer for work - but it depends on your bandwidth for speed.
    Have Fun.

Do you have an ssh client installed on your work terminal? If so you could tunnel port 80 of your home PC, however it depends on how they block the sites...

If they block by URL then it could well work. If they block by content then it is a bit more difficult...

Just out on interest, have you an idea of the system used to block sites? Is it done in the firewall/server somewhere or by a program running on your workstation?
