    Xbox 360 Xtreme firmware 5.3A,5.3B,5.3C,5.3D for TS-H943 Xbox 360

    Whats New:
(v5.3) Disc-Jitter added for Challenge Types 5/7 to avoid possible replay detection.
Disc-Jitter is slight randomization added to the result of Challenge types 5 and 7 so as to emulate a result from an actual physical drive.
This is to avoid any possible replay detection.

I also suggest that everyone turns off the auto-signin to live .. I would personally pull network connection until news breaks ... anybody know the time the update is coming as M$ could push it earlier ...

I am going to patch my ORIG.BIN of my ms25 ready ie: file only and disconnect from live until a hear latest news .. If I then have to patch with new updated FW I will before going online.

And for those Hitachi owners .. I would suggest you deffo disconnect until newsbreaks

The cat and mouse games begins ??? (Or does it !!!!) only time will tell

I'm just about ready to update mine too. What's the best option out of ....
    A (always fast)
    B (always quiet/slow)
    C (Dual speed-default fast)
    D (Dual speed-default quiet/slow)

Also, should I flash my drive with my original FW first and then update it with the new one or can I just go straight over my current FW (Extreme 4.2)?

I forgot to say, my drive is an MS28 if that makes any difference.

    Thank you.

Mate, you don't need a specific VIA chipset for the Toshiba-Samsung drives (unless it's an ms28?). You can use Xtreme Boot Maker to patch mtkflash to work with your SATA chipset, if it's an ms25. Check the revision of your firmware, it's listed on the top of the drive unit.

Finally just started and have found that XBM 0.5.3 doesn't recognise the new FW. There is a temp fix for it h**p://www.x-projects.org/core/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?388

Is this what you had to do pizzaman, if not how did you do yours?

I keep getting an error when I load the FW into XBM......

I think I'll wait until the software is sorted out.

    Spoiler:
See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

EDIT: I just tried loading Xtreme52.rar into Xtreme Boot Maker ( Open Firmware ) as it suggests and still get the Import Failed error!

Why dont you just read in the FW which you have got now save it as orig.bin and once read copy it into the same folder as xtreme53 and then run the Make Xtreme firmware.cmd worked for me I have a modded MS28 firmware - couldnt tell you which version , but read it off of drive, saved as orig.bin - ran command - choose 53 (b) option and then flashed the new x53b.bin back to drive - job done
