    Question wii from japan ?

    Hey Guys,

I been offline for quiet some time while travelling and I will be in japan soon before heading for the UK - so I'm thinking of getting either a wii or PS3 or both while there - as hopefully this will be cheaper than buying it once im home.

when I left the UK neither was out here so I am really behind on whats what on them so a few real easy questions answered would really help me out.

is it worth doing ? - I understand about some possible voltage issues but its the games and regioning that I am really worried about - warranty issues not a prob as I tend to open the suckers up a bit once I get one anyway.

This applies to both ps3 and wii - so info on both would be well recieved.

I understand that there certain subjects that cannot be disscussed regarding sony products on here so I am not asking for anyone to talk about that - its really pisses raptor off - so if thats involved dont post- pm please.

    thanks for any advice.
    cheers

a japanese wii can only display japanese, theres no options to set the menus to english. there are also compatability issues, theres a sticky on the subject you should look over before you buy one. Having a jap one does have its advantages as theres a few jap/ntsc games id like to try which wont work on UK machines, but overall i think you may be better off with a UK one. They are still quite hard to get hld of in the UK tho.

nice one thanks for the info - I wont be in uk until september so maybe it will be better then - it was the PS3 that really tempted me tho as the price seemed to be some much cheaper there.

yeah a Ps3 is more of an option as its region free and has a full english option. You can pick up PS3s for £350 or less tho if you shop around, so take that into consideration.

jammy git going to japan anyway, its still on my list of places to go, which is a very long list actually

Wiis are getting into the shops in the UK now. I have a cyclowiz that allows me to play any region gamecube and wii games that I have obtained.

Unless you get a really good deal on a PS3 (ie they give you money) I wouldn't bother - spend your money on something else. You have a 360 so no need for a PS3
