TomTom 6 won't install on N80

Well I have tried sooo many different releases each ranging from 6.010, 6.020, and 6.030 but none will install. I copy all files to my SD card, the phone says installing and then says it is untrusted software install via device manager. I go to device manager, click on tomtom, click install and it does nothing...

I have tried restarting the phone, still no use.

If you look in the comments here I have followed that large walkthrough with the N80 rar file he upped.

Any help much appreciated!

i have said this b4 thats N80 hansets need a firmware upgrade to v4xxxx b4 tomtom works

I've had tomtom 6 running on firmware v3xxxx on my sim-free n80. It worked pretty decent as well.

@ evilsatan - Have you tried going into the - App. manager> Options> Settings then changing the Software installation to ALL and Online certif. check to NO

@Russ - yes I have mate, I have tried so many different versions from all sources! Most have the same file structure, a few have some curious structures.

@TIger - possible but 2die4 has it... my handset is locked to Three and branded. I have tried to upgrade the FW but am having major troubles with that too as per my posts in the mobile section

@2die4 - I am pretty sure that the settings are that as I have looked at them before, will double check though

Well the version I posted has been used successfully be many N80 users, I'm stuck with my N70 & TT v5, so I'm sorry but can't really help any more.

Sorted most of it now! 2die4, turns out it was set to online check so I turned that off then it allowed me to install but had errors about certificates and that my date might be wrong on my phone. When I had been checking the date it had always been right but turns out it was 2006 and not 2007 and stupid me hadn't realised (date came pre-set on the phone).

So now I need to get my device ID and it should all work so I have left karma for 4me2 and Russ for their help and thanks to Tiger. BTW I am running a v3 FW :s

It did seem as though the problem was with the certificate check but glad ya got it sorted in the end mate after all the carry on

As for changing your phone ID. maybe you should try another PC if you have access to one. Don't install any of the Nokia suite software yet. Just install the NSS, plug your phone in and XP should find the drivers automatically and install then change your product code. Make sure you select the data suite option or whatever it is when you plug the cable into the phone. You'll see a small icon on your phone telling you it is connected.

After that download, install and run the NSU (Nokia Software Updater) from the Nokia website and you should be ok. Bear in mind it takes a while to install on your phone. Have to admit I was in a state of panic that it was going to freeze half way through or my PC would freeze (which it has been doing as of late). Was a very nerve racking half hour.

evil, i found one on a torrent site which i just copied to my sd card and works perfectly. gimme a shout if you need it. I think its v6.010 (25MB)

btw im running a three branded n80 with v4.xxxx firmware (official) but tomtom ran fine on v3.xxxx firmware too

Cheers for the offer mate, sounds like other than the FW I have the same setup as you. My GPS box should come early next week but so far I have postcodes working, GB and major WE roads map, some custom voices and hopefully speed cameras working!

i dont know what network you are on but the official nokia software updater updated me to v4.xxxx without changing my product code.

You should get this when you try to open up your map - then use the keygen to activate it
