    Default Food to munch

Right, into about week 3 or 4 of my get fit and lose weight challange.

The diet and the training has been going well, however to has got to the point where the smoking is just getting in the way. I have from today given up smoking again, hopefully for good this time.

Since i started training i have not really had any problems with feeling hungry, however today i can't stop thinking about food.

My question is what is the best food i can buy just to munch on and not worry about screwing my diet.

I'm determined not to let my smoking or lack of it ruining all the good work i have put in so far, so any suggestion would be really helpful.

I know fruit and veg but is there anything else.

    Cheers

Low fat yoghurt, raisins, nuts, a carrot, an apple, a smoothie, low fat cereal bars (you can make those yourself), brown bread with peanut butter, a small jacket potato with tuna, fruit juice, milk, low calorie soup, a slice of malt loaf. Just a few things there. Don't be concerned that you want to snack, it's natural and in many ways is beneficial. It can help keep your energy levels up as well as taking the edge of your appetite when you come to a main meal (thereby disouraging over-eating then).

    Low Fat Cereal Bars

    1 cup rolled oats
    1 cup Rice Krispies
    2/3 cup chopped apricots
3 tablespoons roasted sunflower seeds (I didn't bother toasting them)
1/4 cup toasted coconut (I don't toast it)
    1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
    2 tablespoons vegetable oil
    3 tablespoons honey
    2 tablespoons peanut butter
    1 tablespoon vanilla

    Cooking instructions:

    1. Melt oil, honey, peanut butter in microwave just until easy to mix up, watch carefully, probably 20 seconds or so.

    2. Mix in vanilla.

    3. Mix all ingredients together and press down well into 8" square pan sprayed with pam.

    4. Make sure you press down firmly.

    5. Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes.

    6. Let cool before serving.

    Yum Yum
