searched the net to find a problem to overcome & responses report errors as a result of v.media spoke direct to them and they deny any problems however i for some reason cannot access the servers to download programs etc ??

do you have links to any of these reported issues, cos ive seen nothing on df about torrents being unusable on virgin.. just slower than people would prefer lol

sounds like an issue on your end tbh.

well are you having problems with your torrent client connecting to other peers/seeds?

    probably a port forwarding issue

could only really be a few things..

software firewall (make sure the app isnt blocked), ensure your router is configured correctly. you can make sure the requisite ports are unblocked using azureus. under tools there is a NAT/firewall test. itll tell you what port its attempting to connect on, and if it succeeds. dunno if utorrent has some kind of similar troubleshooting facility.

cant think of anything else that should directly affect your ability to contact trackers, seeds and peers.

however your not exactly giving much detail back, so its pretty difficult.

Could be a few things, port not correctly forwarded a firewall issue, if you connect through a router it may not allow certain ports to be used.

read here to learn more about port forwarding/routers.

Ports are most likely (although sometimes ZoneAlarm throws a wobbler for me and needs resetting). I run Azeurus on VM with no probs though generally.

If you are calling uTorrent a torrent finder then the fault is probably your end

Seriously though check your forwarding and you'll be up 'n running
