My brother used to work for them and the money they pay out for chromosome samples, chimps etc is frightening. Sponsoring a garden is a way to raise their profile and will probably result in a lot of donations.

Personally i dont think cancer research need to raise their profile, so i think the money would have been spent more wisely on the things that matter in life.

They also seem to gave plenty of cash to keep posting me fooking pens - get at least one a month from them - Ok i know they are cheap pens, but still it's gotta be costing them a small fortune for the pens/printing leaflets and postage. I sometimes feel they spend cash very unwisely perhaps just to keep their administrative staff employed.

Personally I refuse to give to any charity that posts me begging letters, regardless how worthy a cause they are - and when I choose to make a donation it always goes to local causes, especially the Macmillan Nurses.

Yup totally agree, the wife works for Northern Rock and when any staff donate to the RVI childrens ward Northern Rock triple the donation.

Gives a massive incentive to donate

Thats pretty good of them m8 - shame I just had a row with NR in chester le st today and will be closing all my accounts and transferring my mortgage away from them just as soon as I can. Never had such rude unhelpful customer service from a bank type place in my life.

Not blaming your missus there Dappa - sure she's one fo the decent ones - just got me started by the mention of NR - my blood is slowly cooling after this mornings "discussions"

    Speculate to accumulate.

But I agree about the spam letters and even worse, those cunts in the street: "Hiya treacle, how are you? what you up to? fancy giving me a load of your time so i give you money?". Fuck off!

Whack a complaint in mate, the wife manages the one in shields, so shes in the clear.

Just told her and she said to put a complaint in, as they pride themselves on good customer service ?
