my brother want a projector..keeps sending me details.. I know jack shit about these things so need some advice please..

those look good, but the resolutions arent that great, try a sanyo z2 or z3 both are 720p and give an amazing picture

Personally, I would steer clear of 2nd hand ones because of the bulbs. Users can reset the lamp timer at any time, so although the advert says hours used, the actual figure might be much higher leaving you with a duff bulb, and some bulbs can cost £250+
Another thing to bear in mind is the flaws in technology used- With lcd, you get "hatching" which is the black space between pixels, but it is only noticable close up, you also get grey blacks instead of pure black. With dlp you get a rainbow effect on very fast moving frames, or if you move your eyes around, and dlp is not recommended if you smoke in your house
