As a couple of people on here knew i've been looking to get into Accountancy/Finance, but with a 2:2 and no finance or accountancy qualifications i was finding it hard to get into.

I spoke with a consultant and got a lot of advice from her and she recommended that i study myself to show my intent and desire to get into accountancy/finance.

I decided to enroll for an AAT evening course at a local college which would be starting this September, and then to use that to level my way into a finance role.
I also decided that i might as well stick my C.V on a few job sites asking for finance/accountancy roles in the meantime and see what came up.
(I'm guessing a few people can relate to this)

Whilst on Reeds website i noticed a good looking role as an Accounts Assistant, which i phoned them up about, but it was a temp to perm role so no good. They did have another role as a Finance Administrator that i would be suitable for though so he put me forward for it. Later that night i get another phone call. He'd sent my CV forward for the original role and they were so impressed with my CV that they wanted to interview me on a straight to perm basis.

2 interviews and 3 entry exams later i got offered both of the jobs and decided to take the accounts assistant role.

So in 4 and a bit weeks time i'll be an Accounts Assistant for BMW

Chuffed to bits! Company car up to a Z4, huge list of benefits, Health care, dental care, pension etc. They also offer study support towards a CIMA or ACCA. It's an entry level role but all vacancies are replaced internally so there's plenty of opportunities for progression.

Ironic really, i spent months trying my hardest to get a new job, and when i give up and don't really try, i get two at once

How many years did you study for and how hard was that? But glad it paid off in the end and hopefully you'll enjoy it as the new company car.

I haven't studied for any accountancy/finance qualifications yet, i was going to start this September. I went to college and then to Uni to study Maths though, but whilst i'd previously been turned down by most places as i had a 2:2, not a 2:1 or a 1st.

its very rare to be offered a car straight off, especially on an entry level job.

as mentioned above. whats the salary if you dont mind divulging, cos if its under 25k you been fucking lucky getting offered a motor.

Excellent news - your benefits look very good - I presume you'll get the basic company car then work up to a z4 however having a BMW, whatever it is, can't be all that bad hehe!The dental care and health care I imagine will come in very handy too!

The starting salary is £20k + up to 20% bonus, and they work on a points benefits scheme for all benefits such as health care, dental care, company car etc. You get allocated X amount of points a month which you can "buy" benefits with. The better the car, the more points it costs, but if you want to have more benefits than points available, then 1 point = £1.
For example, if i get 180 points a month, full health care costs 55 points a month, dental care costs 4 points a month, a 5 door 120i M-Sport costs 125 points, a 325i M-Sport costs 135 points, and 2.5Si Sport Z4 costs 175 points a month.
So if i wanted the 120i M-Sport, health care, and dental care it would cost 184 points, so i could use my 180 points and then pay £4 a month extra.
If i wanted the Z4, health care and dental care it would cost 234 points, so i could use my points and pay £54 a month extra.
They divide the cars into bands depending on your position in the company. I'm in the bottom band and can have up to a 2.5ltr Z4. Unfortunately not an M series car as you have to be a bit further up the company to get one of them . They also work it (because they're BMW and own/make the cars) so that you only pay a few hundred a year in tax rather than a few thousand.
