recording cd quality sound from internet

Hi all.

Is there a way of recording the sound from Youtube videos? There are some live performances by artists that i would like on my mp3 player and was wondering if i can rip the sound from them at 128/192kbps quality? Also, can you save any of Youtube/yahoo/google videos to your hard drive?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you use Firefox you can get the VideoDownloader plugin

This will download the video as .flv

You will then need something like VLC to play it, in theory you could then extract the audio from it.
