can someone tell me are all samsung drives have that hole on the front of it always?

is there way to quieten them or anything to keep the noise down?

yes, all Samsung drives have the exact same shape holes on the tray! And there's no way to make it any quieter! The reason it's so loud it because of the speed the discs spin at! Thats why its quiet with DVD films (disc spins slower).
