Oops, XP now needs validating to start up

My uncles pc was giving the "this is not a legal copy" message so i tried changing the key but it wouldnt do it, i tried re-installing the wpa crack as well.

When i re-booted it came up with the microsoft validation screen saying because not validated within 30 days we now have to validate, or it wont go past this point.

Is there anything i can do other than fromat?

i had the same problem i phoned them and they give me a code to activate over the phone

Activate the software over the phone, just make sure you have a legit key from somewhere.....most of the time an automated machine will give you the activation code but if you speak to someone just say the old motehrboard burst into flame and you have replaced it and you have re-installed it.
