What is your camera?
sorry, it is a canon 350d
ive been drooling over this one pete but ive got a couple of other lenses on my list before I get over to a macro lens
http://www.sigma-imaging-uk.com/lenses/macro/150mm.htm
full 1:1 and 2.8
Problem with a 150mm is with a 1.6 crop factor - the lens is a 240mm lens, and thats a bit OTT for macro.
Better off sticking to 60mm Canon or at most a 105 or 100. That way, the lens isn't to obstrusive.
maybe its just me but I love the effect with this lens on my 350 had a chance to play with one let me see if I can dig out some pics
what about a sigma 105....
no experiance of that one pete so I cant comment, ive found jessops to be handy for going in and trying the lens, even going so far as taking a few pics in the shop paying for prints so you can compare at a later date....
may be worth while if youve got the time?
Always been pleased with image quality from my Sigma 105.
Another good option is the Tamron SP AF 90mm f/2.8 Di Macro.
Here's an article comparing it to the Canon 100mm, LINK.
