Canon 70-300 IS USM

Had 10 minutes to try it ut from getting home and having to go and take my kid to her "girls club". After which, it was staring to get dark and the rain was coming down.

Once I had it on the camera and zipped the zoom about a bit and looked at its build and read the manual (crap manual) I heard an approaching aeroplane, so I dashed to the back door and got this fast moving test 'plane as it flew across.

Fired off 6 shots in burst mode, camera set to autofocus, AI Servo mode, in Programme mode (I know, how feeble!) so all I did was literally point and shoot at the 'plane.

Was in RAW mode, converted in CS3 later.

Exif: f/10.0 @ 1/800sec hand-held, IS on, ISO 200, @ 300mm end.

Once I get some time off from work I will try it out properly, so I expect to see some improvement.

how far away was the plane would you say?

Looking up to it, it appearewd about 4 feet long, so maybe 300 feet? I dunno.

Great shot Bilbo, I've got same lens (bought off wingnut), it's a tremendous piece of kit, now I just want to get a x2 or x1.4 teleconverter to get some even closer lunar shots with it.
