A simple car sign with messages and emocions (“smileys”)

Does anyone know if this is actually legal in the UK?

Vehicles may only show white or amber light to the front, and red, or amber to the rear.But that don't mean it's ok to use the legal colours to display whatever you like! Unless of course you're driving a police car which,legally use's those colour's to signal you to "PULL OVER" or "STOP" etc etc etc!

Was watching Top Gear yeterday and they had the one where they went caravanning. Anyhoo they had an LED message writer hooked up to the back windscreen of the caravan which Clarkson was programming messages into. Can't find a link to the item though

EDIT: Can't get on ebay at work but if you look down the page you'll see ebay links to led message writers for cars. Not sure if its the same as what iNSPECTA posted thoug so sorry if it is. Half tempted to get one
