A belgium place. Beer menue bigger than the food menue.

    Good wholesome food.

I went in the other day
    2 startes
    2 Mains
    4 Shots
    3 Beers
    £60 including thier service charge.

This was middle road. You can do it cheaper and of course more expensive.

    Other places
Cottons - Camdn Lock - West Indian, goat curry and the like. Whats more important is the few hundred different types of rum they have in thier rum bar

    Want another
Spiga, along Wardour Street, Pizza place, i think a little over priced but we have had many a good time.

One to avoid, there is a Cuban place on Wardour Street. Horribly over priced and food not very good at all. Trust me i eat a lot of different cuisines.

There are a few good places down Wardour street and being close (RIGHT IN MORE LIKE) Soho plenty of great Bars (convent garden very near by) Try Lab, coctail bar, very impressive menue

    I really could go on.
If you are feelin adventerous there is La hore, off of Commercial Road, looks like a dodgy Kebab bar, BUT VERY GOOD. Do nto be put of by the looks.

I woudl steer clear of Brick Lane. I love my Curry and tried very hard to find a good decent place but always been bitterly disapointed.

Top Table, you coudl Try Top Of The Town. Biggest (and yes one of the best) Chinese places to eat. You can have silly english chinese food or proper chinese grub.

If you do liek proper chinese grub then Youeng Cheng (also in China Down on Wardour Street) mains about 5-8. Very good i woudl reconmend Belly Pork, Roast Duck and Rice with Choi Sum or Pak Choi for Veg.

If you come down to London Bridge end look up a Pub called The Rake, over 300 different beers available. My local as it happens (well 3.5 miles away but so damn good i made it my local!) No food, however there is a fantastic Fish place near by, the name escpaes me.

Any more.... plenty but those can wait for another time. I think i have covered a suitbale pallete range.

    Cheers.....Q

If i could afford to i woudl love to do that. The problem is I am one of those persons who directs via eateries, liek others do by Pub's. ROad names have always been an issue for me. I did not know the road a at the end of mine (3 houses away) after i had lived there for 11 years. Only remember once i moved away!

I was in the UK last week, Portsmouth and then the weekend in London. We went to Ping Pong in London, great food at good prices

    http://www.pingpongdimsum.com/

    and

    http://www.london-eating.co.uk/5962.htm

EDIT: Oh yeah, and they have a very interesting toilet too, you can show your cock into the ladies room if you wish... I didn't as why bother when they didn't hand out microscopes at the door. But go and check it out.

Ping Pong, for Dim Sum and Chinese dishes that place is pricey. Range not too good either.

The important thing though is you had a good time (seriously i am not trying to knock it or put you down)

If you are looking for Dim Sum, get down to Top Of the Town (mentioned above) There Also Lotus (bit out of town on the DLR) There are two others i go to in Chine Town, but i have no idea on the name. I will look them out and make a note next time i am central.

    Cheers......Q

Went to Gaucho's in Manchester last year. Fantastic.
Food, service and atmosphere was first class. Wine was bloody pricey but the whole package was worth every penny.
Spent about £110 for the two of us.
Didn't know thre was one in London, I would imagine it to be very similar.

Yes there is one (likely to be more) in london. There is one in Angel (Upper Street)

Never been, whats the cuisine? Is it Argentinean?

Argentinian - Steak - Lobster etc.
I had Lobster tail as starter and one of the best steaks I've ever had as main.
II asked for my steak blue - it was so blue - I almost wanted to start chanting football songs.

    Two serious options...

Gaucho Grill's are expensive but worth every penny for some of the best steak around.

    On a budget it's got to be a Wagamama's.

    Number 71 Chicken Katsu Curry

    Ducky Gyoza

    Edamame Beans

White Choc and Ginger Cheescake for dessert.

Your belly will feel highly blessed after either one of those I promise.

I think the time has passed, bu the poster was looking for somethign individual. Wagamama started in london but is now country wide and still the same menue from when i was introduced (when there were two) some 7/8 years back.

Wagamama is a good safe bet though but not that individual anymore. Saying that even though i have not been, knowing Gaucho Grill is nationwide i woudl not reconmend that for a london eating experieince.

GOing back to Belgos. They are also expanding fast and are opening up venues called Bierdrome, same menu in a pub style.

Got to grab these experieinces early.

I really fancy that Katsu Curry now! I liek my chicken slightly overdon so even under the sauce there is a crunch!

    Cheers.....Q
