Amongst the most colourful when in bright summer sunshine, is the "Ice Plant", Dorotheanthus bellidiformis. This is the Magic Carpet genus, one that produces a Riot of Colours among the bedding plants in gardens. They close up when the sun goes off them, so mid-afternoon is the best time to capture the vibrant blooms.
