    Default wireless networking

    hi guys,i got a netgear wireless router, installed it and worked perfectly for a couple of months,now for some unknown reason when im on the laptop and one of the kids go on pc upstairs the signal becomes weak and the speed slows right down and keeps disconnecting,its doing my head in any help would be much appreciated thanks.

    off top of my head.. you could try

    if theres any other networks in the area check what channel thay are running on.. and change channel on urs if they are close
    upgrade the firmware
    check to see if theres any telnet configuration settings or anything for your model that will allow you to turn up the transmit power

    um.. i cant think what effect the pc being on has..
    whats the setup? is the pc wired to the router and laptop wireless? or both wireless?

    the pc is wired to the router and iv got another pc and laptop with wireless connections,ill try what you have said and let you know what happens,thanks.
