Wii Component cables

Guys,

Looking for some advice, i`m going to buy a set of component cables and was wondering what the big difference is between the official nintendo ones and the cheaper versions scattered around ebay. Is there a big difference in quality between the two.

I have an official one and its no better than a cheapo one, if the wii was HD it would require high quality cables, but since it aint, the cheaper ones are fine.

I got a cheapy one from ebay and it's fine. Opera is much better, fonts are more readable. Good all round really (& cheap).

Some of the gamecube games benefit nicely too. Eternal darkness looks pretty damn good over component (considering its only EDTV)

Tried Gamestation down our way today but couldn`t get any, they had the madcatz ones at £14.99, Looking to order the official ones from a seller on ebay, £3.99 for the cables and £8.99 postage unless anyone knows anwhere cheaper.

I got mine off eBay, supposedly official but 'unboxed' from a guy selling out of Hong Kong. Picture quality is great but audio seems a little tinny at times but it doesn't bother me in the slightest. I would have thought you could get a cable shipped cheaper than that though.

One very cheap place is www.dealextreme.com (out of Hong Kong). Some 'unusual' bits on their as well.

They take PayPal and ship straight to the UK (usually for free). As their prices are in US dollars - everything works out at nearly half-price . Oh, and no import tax to worry about - they mark everything 'gift' .

I have a Jap one bought by a mate whilst on his holiday. Cost him about £8 and it's official. So there must be lots on ebay
