im trying to stream media from my pc to tv.when i scan for media servers im getting windows media player 11 on my tv screen. i get my music and photos but not my divx videos they are there but it says unsuported data.i have TVersity running on my computer but the playstation is not finding it any help or suggestions

there may be a conflict between mp11 and tversity, try turning off your media sharing in mp11 first then searching again, if i remember right i had to convert some of my xvids to work on the ps3 before i could watch them, goto library then convert to ps3

Try your firewall settings, First make sure that sharing is turned OFF via MP11. If your using a router try the explanation at the bottom of page.

One problem I had that wasnt very clear, is that "TVersity media server" needs to be allowed through your firewall and not just TVersity.exe

You may need to stop sharing from server then restart for the ps3 to see it.

Since TVersity acts as a server (media server) on your Local Area Network (LAN), you need to make sure Windows and your router allows it access. If you have a personal firewall running or the Windows firewall is running, you need to make sure that the executable MediaServer.exe located under the installation folder of the software (usually c:\Program Files\TVersity\Media Server) is allowed to accept incoming connections on the port used by the media server (which is by default port 41952).

If you are running a router, you will also need to enable port forwarding from your computers IP address – as a result, it will be handy if you assign yourself a static IP on your local network binded to your network card MAC address, for instance. Login to your router and enable port forwarding as you can see in the image below.
