    Default cant connect to the net.

    hi all,
    where to start firstly i have a wireless connection through my lappy going to my daughters pc, it was working well until one day virgin went down for a couple of hrs after that then the fun started, it will only let the lappy connect to the net and sometimes the pc but to get the pc to go online you after keep restarting it and then it goes off after about 5 mins, it all started when the one light went off on the broadband modem box, theres 6 lights that flash they are usb,enet,u/s,d/s,syn,rdy, after the usb light went off thats when it all started up till then it was sweet as a nut, any help would be great.

    Have you tried unplugging all the cables and replugging them and then restarting the box? The Virgin going down may have been your modem failing in some way. See if you can borrow a box off someone you know and try that.

    As it's the usb light that's gone off, sounds daft, but have you checked that the usb connection is secure? Have you tried your usb ports on your machine with another usb device?

    If USB and ENET are flashing when the cable modem is operational, then I assume you have plugged a USB and an ethernet cable to your computer.

    This is unnecessary and is likely to cause conflict. Preferably, unplug the USB cable and see if your problem remains.
