anyone know where the best place is to get my cabbage changed into euros going on holibobs on sunday
I often go to Marks and Spencer.
I find the post office (commision free) rate of excahnge poor.
Find a few places, ring around and see what your going to get prior to going with your cash.

It certainyl used to.
I used to Use Abbey, i had an account and it was commensions free and good rate, but they then started charging, so looking around M&S proved to be the next (well THE) best option.
I have not looked properly for a year now, i knwo they do nto charge commision still. I am surprised there has not been a sway of info on this.
Give them a call and perhaps call your bank as well and see. Might be worth whiel seeing what you get charged for using your card when abroad.

Travelex website are normally pretty good and they also do a "refund the difference" if you find a better/cheaper exchange rate. T&C's though

I use the Post Office, or get an account with Nationwide as you don't get charged for withdrawing money abroad.
Lad I speak to on another forum said iirc over here exchange was something like 1.41, but simply by using cash card in machine abroad he got 1.49.
As per CaptainRookie's post if you have a Nationwide account, just use your card. When I was in France last year it was a better exchange rate using the hole in the wall over there than it was to buy the currency before I went and there was no fee charged either.
