done the towel trick now got 2 red lights

after some advice off here ref another 360 i had that wouldn't eject or read discs i attempted the towel trick trying to make the 360 give me the dreaded 3rl so i could send it back, as its a launch console.

problem is it just goves me 2 red lights and the inner green one flashes a bit like when its in modeb the fans stop and it seems like some kind of thermal protectiobs kicked in, as i'll then reset and it'll power up green again

any other way of me cooking this sucker (not in the oven please)to get the now excellent 3rl's??

you could possibly buy a 3rl off ebay and swap the drives and send back or maybe you'd be best just stumping up for a new drive?

Why can't you send it back with just two red lights? Whats the difference its still broke??

I done the towel trick to get the 3RL, then started gettin 2 RL. I then followed a guide that was posted on here somewhere, by opening the console and putting 4 rubber blocks on the 4 chips on the board. It worked for a little while but now I just get graphics errors in games and freezing without any RL.

the warranty only covers 3rl's after a year mate. the console is banned so i may just cut my loses tbh, not sure its worth me buying another drive for a banned console.

will just whack it on ebay and state all thats wrong with it i think.

Couldn't you just send it back anyway, even if it arrived and was all working i wouldn't think they would just send it back.

just tell them its 3rl.

If they turn it on their end and its only 2 red lights... well blame it on the very secure packaging that may of heated the box on its UPS travels.

I cant belive people are TRYING to get 3rl lol.

well two red lights is over heating mate, so yea prob shutting its self down, open the sucker up and make a mess on the board lol, break some legs and shit, who cares what u do to it as long as the 3 lights pop up, got nothing to loose really as is already f**ked

yes open the console and wiggle a few of the capacitors until the come off then put the moose in the case when you do it up you will defo get 3 red lights then
