    Photos Snail

The common snail, or garden snail (Helix aspersa).

Because of their moist skin, common snails are most active in damp weather and at night.

Hence, these were taken with flash at -1 at around midnight between episodes of "24" I was watching on DVD... The flash appears to have brought out colours that maybe shouldn't be there. Could be my post-processing I suppose.

Anyway. The snail was on top of a felled tree stump in the front garden.

    top marks as usual Bilbo.

    what flash are you using?

I'm hoping to get a 105mm lens from the US v. soon. My brothers out there and told him to go to B&H photo and video in NY, fingers crossed.

Taken on the Sigma 105, with a standard Jessops flash gun set to -1 EV, with a diffuser over the flashhead.

Haha, same here... at night time, when you look out on the lawn, there's probably in excess of 50 of the little beggars... and that doesn't include the Vagabond Snails.... the homeless ones.. otherwise known as Slugs . lol

Nice pics though. Might just get out there and take a few myself. They are much easier subjects to photograph
