Broken cog in wii

Not sure if anyone has seen/ had this happen, all of a sudden the wii just stopped drawing in the discs and making a crunching sound, the wife blamed me as it was a day after i chipped it, im positive it wasnt me as you dont go near the cogs of the dvd drive but i cant convince her!

Ive managed to bodge it back together with some super glue as the tooth of the cog had only bent not broken right off and its held up for a few days now!

I found a video of the same fault on you tube (will post the link when i find it again!)

Just to warn you more than anything! mine was an original wii from release date they might of changed since then??

im sure model shops, or places like http://www.rswww.com/, and MAPLINs will sell spare cogs that will fit in your Wii to prevent it happening again!

But I think the superglue will last! That stuff is solid! And def wont wear away from some simple gears turning with little force.

And your right, it has NOTHING to do with chipping it! But what I can I say?! Women (well some of 'em) are just like that! They cant comprehend that chipping a console then having it break a few days later wasn't the result of the chip!

cheers mate i might go down that route if it fails again, thats if she ever lets me near HER favorite toy again!
