Had my second sons name recently tattoo'd on my ribs, just under my star, which was what I had always intended when I got the star, and its looking pretty good - will post pic later...

So now, I have both my sons names, amongst other tatt's and have decided to do sometihng I promised I would never do, and get a womans name on me!

I am after some ornate, delicate angel wings, with the word Gemma in stylish italic or brush script (not THE brush script, fancy writing) font over them, and its going to go on my huuuuuge bicep (yeah right).

Casio, you normally have great ideas and vision, so I am primarily looking in your direction (although I know u got plenty on so dont worry if u cant help), but any input is always welcome from all I got a couple of ideas which I will work on and put up, but would be very grateful if anyone else can spare some time to help me on my quest to find the right thing.

m8 im more than willin to have a go at helping im going to be offline for the next 2 days -ish (ive got to drive to inverness from doncaster and back which according to google maps should be 7hours and a bit there and the same back)

just one thing at the mo, are you going coloured of black and grey?

No preference re the syle of the wings really, like with all tatt's I think i will know when I see them, if you catch my drift...

Was planinning on it being black/grey yeah - no colour on my left arm.

as it stands at the moment m8 i dont think its happening (so no plaster or floor for my front room yet then lol) i was supposed to get a call to tell me to go get the van and set off at 9ish this morning but theyve not got a van for me yet,

back to topic lol

i know what you mean about the knowin it when you see it, and im glad your going black and grey, it makes it look a lot better and easier to draw up (for me at least lol), theres something to be said for coloured ink but like everything its got to be the right colour and the right style

off the top of my head ive got a sketch somewhere with some lettering that i can redo and write gemma out with, ill have to find a copy of the font you like cos i dont know what it looks like

edit; ive just seen the font thanks to google i like it, im glad you dont want that one as the one ive got drawn up from a year or so ago is like it but a lot more ornarte and flowing

the other thing i was going to ask was about how many wings eg, both sides of the angel or just one with the txt above

also alot of religions and non religious people believe if you have a feather fall on you although it has to be a white one, an angel is looking over you so if you were to have a feather done with the name over the top especially in black and grey it could fit your arm quite well and also make it sort of shes the angel looking over you?

looks like i dont have to go m8, so ive done a bit of a sketch of just the name, again like in the other post all ive got is a blue pen, pencil (i stayed away from the marker this time lol)

ill post it as soon as i can so you can have a look and tell me if i got the right idea or not with the font (easy to change if ive not)

there is another thing that ive come up with and its more of an egyption style basically its supposed to invoke protection and cooperation and drive away evil (its used in places of worship to protect them . you can then put the name in the middle of the disk or from wing to wing and over the disk

these are the quick sketches of the name that i was tellin you about again sorry about the quality of it being in pencil and biro and not scanned but photographed, once i can sort out a 2b pencil rather than the 4h that im having to sketch with i'll be able to do a better design but at the mo my hands are tied

edit, when i get a bit more time (and a ruler) the lettering will be a much more uniform size not to mention that once its all in the same media it should look cleaner

looks nice dude - I was thinking more along the lines of wings close together, if not touching each other - then have some kind of drop shadow and the name Gemma ontop of the wings, or over them...

There is no specific font that i am after really...its like in my head i know what i want - trying to convert it into paper and art is something differen though...

love the egyptian wings though I must admit - i want the eye of horus too at some stage, so that is a strong possiblity as it would tie in nicely..

lol, yeah armpit to elbow! inside of arm too....got a few wings designs from deviant which i like - will upload them when on other pc

at the moment m8 ive not got that much on, i have got a design ive been working on for a little while that may be suitable its not really what you asked for other than the fact theres wings on there, ill post it later and let you have a look at what im on about

in stead of the wings with the name i went with a guardian angel holding the name, going by where you want it doing it would fit quite well and possibly form the basis for an upper arm sleave

thats awesome casio - really is awesome mate...wrong kinda shape for my arm, but i would not go disposing of that mate, nice piece of art which would lend itself very well to a back piece or possibly upper arm piece. very nice indeed

i was thinkin of it for the inner upper arm for my self but cant really keep it black and grey it wouldnt look bad if i did but its crying for some colours i think kind of staind glass in church style

ok ive got an admission to make, ive gone a bit overboard with designs and sketches (both of the wings and the font)

ive found my scanner (and a usb lead finally) and as soon as i can ill post some scans for you dont worry if non of them are what your looking for (a m8 wants one of em if you dont )
