If you get your internet & phone with Virgin your get the basic TV for £5 a month. However the total cost for the package is £35 a month, well it was when I signed up. After 1 year you can drop anything you don't use, I kept the internet and just dropped the phone line.

Do you get your internet? Phone line or cable? Do you still have the old TV supplier's outlet somewhere in the house? How law abiding are you, I hope you aren't a knock off Nigel?

    Nigel,

If it is a cable output then perhaps you could look towards the dbox2 section?

    Nigel,

Search for Eurovox Max V through google.

This may well be the answer to your problems. I fear a DBOX2 is too much, too soon for you

You shouldn't need a subscription to receive the channels. See if you can burrow a box from a mate or something to test to see if the supply is live.

The connection has probably been disconnected at the grey box on your street. But even if it hasn't I still think you should pay the minimum to Virgin.

    Look what happened to OnDigital!

Get a cable, cable and connect one end to the socket you have. Put the other end in your mouth. If you get a tingling sensation the feed is still live and you won't need to subscribe. If nothing exciting happens, then the line is dead and you'll have to fork out all that cash for free premium TV.

    Woot.

I said "put" not "stick", besides it's fine. I do it all the time...
