euro vox shows no signal when there is one ????

hello

basicly got one of those eur*vox max v 2008

but when i plug it in to active virg*n med*a basic service
i do not get any =thing not even bb*1 or any thing let alone the stuff i bought it for
just keeps coming up with no signal message
realy pissed off, the normal channels say display free but no signal

and any of the ones i want like s*y sports it says scrambled or blocked + no signal

is my box tottaly fuc*ed or to i need to just upload the box
with some new software

its the no signal thing that is confusing me

coz i know these boxes do work

why not mine : (

any help would be gratefull

Assuming you are talking about a 2008 Max V....

two quick things, I know they may be basic but worth going over.

1st off... You know the cable feed input is confusing? You plug it into the socket on the far right (when looking from the front) or far left when looking from the back. You do not plug it into the sockets that are in the middle (by the power lead input)

Next, assuming it has been programmed ok, you know you need to do a full channel scan to find the channels?

have you got it set on the correct symbol rate? i:e 6.952 or 6.887, it sounds very much like this problem, have a look in the powerscan section of its menu and see what symbol rate is there, if its 6.952 change it for 6.887, or vice versa. then do a power scan to get the channels,, this is the only thing i can think would cause that prob.

before u do a search for channels factory reset it and clear all data
then search for channels
it will show no signal until u start to scan
then it should go up and like sparkster says its either 6952 or 6887
if it fails on 6952 try 6887
always wipe all data before u scan again
