Default 'All our base units have adjustable feet'

I think I may have just experienced some sort of reverse Fonejacker.

    Local wood shed...

'Can you give me a price for 1000mm base units, with adjustable feet?'
'(with indignance) All our base units have adjustable feet.'
'Oh Ok', I have some at work from there which don't but... 'can I have a price?'
    'Flat pack or ready built?'
    'Flat pack.'
    '£23.00 +VAT'
'That's cheap for base units with adjustabe feet.'
'The flat pack ones don't have adjustable feet'.

It is already looking like it might be one of those weekends.

Reading your other posts my advice is get into bed and stay there till tuesday.
Chances are you'll end up with bed sores the way your luck's going though.

and I take it the ready built ones were originally "flat packed" ones they built in the workshop? ... so do the feet magically change once out of the box? ....

reminds me of the chimps that work in one of our local builders merchants... they all look like characters from "Wrong Turn" and have a collective IQ of 7, between the three of them...lol...

This is what I thought, but they don't sell feet in any case.

Anyway I told them I would be there 'later on' and when I got there at 1:30 they were shut, they only open until 12 on a saturday. That could have done with a mention.

It is the same place where a couple of years ago I went and asked for 4 cheap bases. After some debate about thickness/colour etc I said look, I just want the easiest and cheapest way to support a couple of worktops.
The easiest way to support worktop is on legs he reckoned, cut pole to length, screw socket to floor/underside of worktop.
I asked how I would stop them from falling over.
Baton on the wall he said.
They aren't going against a wall, they are going in the middle of a space.
He went and got me the bases. Knob.

Anyhoo I am having some made elsewhere where they open reasonable times and arent as obstinate.

PS If somebody could change the title to say units I would be grateful, there is no joy in looking like an illiterate cock.
