Working in a Hick town

So as some here may know I moved to Australia a few months ago........

Anyway last week we had to brick up a house in some place called hillsvale and whilst it's only about 1.30 hours away the boss sprung for a hotel for 3 nights due to the country roads and risk of hitting wombats & Kangaroos in the morning/dusk.

Straight away I knew It was a fvcked up place due to the ammount of mullets and merv hughes tashe's on display (and that was only the women ) all the pubs closed at 9pm.

On the last night we were drinking in the pub when a young lad working with us gets into an argument with some guy over who's $2 was on the pool table (should of left the pub then )
I calmed it all down and thought it had all been settled despite the calls of "pommy wanker, we'll get you etc etc"

So 1/2 hour later we go to leave th pub when the barman goes "watch yourself m8 you upet some locals tonight"


We walked out the pub and was met by about 25/30 locals all armed with bottles and pool balls , On my boys eyes I've never seen anything like it but lucky for me it wasnt too bad as I was dropped by the first punch only to be picked up off the road by the police 10mins later who took me back to the hotel and left me with these words.

"Look m8 dont turn any light's on cos' the local lads want to rip your head off and the local police station closes in half an hour so the nearest one open will take atleast 45mins to get here, If you were in a fit state to drive we would escort you lot to Packenham because we dont need you lot stiring up trouble"

4 days later the swelling has gone down slightly lol

fecking ell, one hell of a town then............ remind me to visit sometime ...... fooked up village/town idiots deserve a lesson on how to take a beating.....

Suggest you leave a parting gift, along the lines of a few signs/ paintings on there houses and shops and a few broken windows with messages on the bricks 'we know where you live so sleep well' ...

Was gonna say come back to Blighty m8y, but if the same kind of scenario happened here you would have been shot in the head by a 14yo.
