Great shot, you've captured it perfectly, the grass (i assume its grass) is a nice touch aswell, contrasts nicely with the spider. It's amazing when you see these things in that much detail!

It is a common garden spider, found across the British Isles.

Known as the "Cross Spider" due to sometimes having cross markings on their backs. They are Orb web weavers.

Bodies are usually brown to orange with a sort of zig-zag effect on their main body part.

Look around the shrubbery and you'll probably find one somewhere.

It is actually on a Leylandii branch - you know, them fir trees that can cause rows between neighbours.

It was the Sigma 105 MML m8. No tubes involved.

I'll check the threads out in HW m8 too.
