XBLA online problems

Hi Guys

As you know Sensible World of Soccer (SWOS) is coming out in September for 800 MS points. I am going to get it but since I am not on Xbox LIVE at the moment I am going to take my hard drive with my profile to a friend and buy it there.

One question. In order to play SWOS (or any Arcade title for that matter) will I need to be online all the time? Or can I play the game offline. I know there are some issues when you play Xbox Live Arcade games so I need an answer.

yes it sucks you will need to be online.

unless you take your console and purchase it there with your profile, that might work but im not 100%

it logs your profile and console id when you purchase a marketplace game.

Thats what I am going to do. Take my hard drive with my gamer profile and buy it. Hopefully it will work. Anyone else can help.

you need your whole 360 AND hard drive, not just the hard drive! because as fearless says, it logs your consoles id (unique to YOUR 360) AND your gamertag!

a pain, i know! but there's nothing else you can do! thats why lots of peeps are having problems playing demos of games they've downloaded from newgroups, and burnt to disc, etc!

But I have been banned. So that means buying another 360 just to play SWOS!

lol... I was in the same boat billhouse... ended up swapping my banned 360 with my dads (who had an unmodded to use just as a media extender) and am waiting patiently to download swos before hammering the use on it (I flashed with iextreme but have not used with a backup apart from 1 quick boot to test)

ooh noooo... that is NOT SWOS... not even close... it's an old Amiga thing, keeping the gameplay like the original... the real SWOS was a classic... that Sensi 2006 was terrible - didnt look or play like the real SWOS

Yeah the old game aws best diving headers from halfway line and score a chipping curl and bounce in front of the goalkeeper and he will miss it everytime

Twas a great game. Its release date was August 29th but it got delayed due to some bugs in the code and is now scheduled for late September. I must quickly find a 360 now. Too many games coming out. SWOS, Halo 3, Mass Effect, Half Life 2 Orange Box, Assasins Creed, PGR4, PES 2008 and Lost Oddyssey. And thats not even all of them! Good God.

Ah but isnt the xbox online actually just gonna be the 2006 version. If it is more like the original then that would be much better though

Nope its the exact Amiga code from SWOS 96-97 with online matches, tournaments, leagues and updated HD graphics. It wont be anything like SWOS 2006. This is the proper version.

Yes, you will need to be on LIVE to play it as "full game" well with all my other arcade games, unless I'm online they only play as trials. Shite really.

I think it's fucking wrong myself mate. My 1st 360 went up the shitter so I had to get another, plugged my old HD in, all the games were there, but I could only play as trial versions unless I connected to LIVE. Cheeky MS bastards!
