    Default Almost killed yesterday

I was on a motorway round-about, turning right to get on the motorway (M65) heading West. On the sliproad coming off the m-way (coming from the East) was a woman in her MPV. There were two car lengths between me and the car in front. She thought she could take that spot and so she set off (without even indicating). By the time she got across, I had mostly overtaken her, but she clipped my rear-left quarter (found a big dent on my rear left wheel arch) and I fishtailed.

What followed was sheer terror, which has shaken me to the core.

My car went up the embankment of the sliproad I was going to go up. I missed 4 trees, 2 lamp posts and skidded 3/4s of the way up the sliproad embankment, before a m-way sign post slowed me down, by stripping off the entire right side of the car (Vectra). At which point I stopped. I got out of the car with nothing but a single scratch on my thumb and looked at where I came from. My car had zig zagged through the trees and lamp posts and missed every one of them as I travelled 400 yards up the road, on thick dewey grass.

The dizzy cow eventually came over and tried to blame me, saying I was "indicating right"... Not only was I indicating right because I was fucking going right, but even if I wasn't indicating at all, I was on the round-about and she bloody well should have waited. I was so angry at this woman for almost killing me, the slap in the face was her trying to put the blame on me.

The car is totalled, although luckily it was a company car and not my own. And I'm still alive.

Can't believe the woman didn't ask how you were and if you required an ambulance.

I've been in a few accidents and regardless of who's fault it is, my first concern is to always make sure everyone is okay and if any medical assistance is required. The way I see it, Cars are just bits of metal and plastic that can easily be replaced.

Women get cheaper car insurance because they have less accidents.

Now I am not a misogynist but I have had 4 accidents in my driving lifetime all caused by women, most were minor but one was a real nasty one when a woman came onto my side of the road to pass a learner. I swerved, she hit my door, my car went into a spin and ended up sliding sideways down the road on the wrong side towards oncoming traffic.

    Glad youre ok chap...

I had a similar incident where I was turning right on a 2 lane roundabout (on the inside lane)and some silly bint pulled out from my left into the outside lane and tried to beat me off the roundabout into a single lane exit. Needless to say she lost the race but in the process made a nice new colour mix on the now touching sides of our cars. She then panicked, swerved, and hit a tree (luckily only doing about 10MPH).

She tried to blame me saying she was ahead of me on the roundabout and had right of way (WTF???) at which point I told her not to move until the cops I call arrive. Arrive they did, and after hearing her story, and the couple of eyewitness accounts, between their laughing they advised her to hire OJ Simpson's lawyer if she was going to attempt to fight me in court with it. Needless to say, she became very sheepish and admitted fault from then on (but not before I had very publically shown her the right of way laws of roundabouts from the Highway Code I just happened to have with me)...

Nope its because their accidents cost less - normally due to them being crap at parking, pulling out etc whilst us blokes tend to total cars.

Think its bad in the UK - you should see what its like in the US so many of them shouldn't be on the road.

glad you're ok though mate and that it wasn't your car.

Like everyone else - glad you're ok mate.

I just had my car back, nothing like yours but was stopped at some traffic lights in Reading, when some stupid bint came straight into the back of me. I was livid - mainly because my new born daughter could have been in the car.

Funny thing is, I could see her in the rear view mirror looking the wrong way! Couldnt go anywhere though cos I was surrounded by traffic (to get out of the way in time).

I must admit I hate it when people try to blame you for there crap driving. I while ago I was driving down a 30mph straight road, not speeding or doing anything wrong. Seen a car waiting to pull out on the left and it started to move and stopped causing the car in fron to brake slightly but continue. Then just as I was passing the car just pulled out, I tried to swerve as best I could but still got side swiped. I pulled over walked over to her to ask if she was okay and the first thing she said was " Do you want to go knock for knock". I just smiled and said " We'll see what the insurance say eh", Just then the car that was in front had turned round and came back to say they seen what happened, I asked them if they would be a witness, to which they agreed and then the daft bint asked if they would be a witness for her aswell...lol.

    Glad your ok fella

Well about 2 weeks ago was on a roundabout coming off the m65 at junction 4. Pottering along as you do.. i missed my turning so went round again as you do!! then suddenly a amubulance came on behind me went past me.. towards the exit then some women coming up on approach didnt bother stopping and looking to her right on the round about before coming on.. and rammed the ambulance head on and tipped it and injured everyone.. i had to be a witness for it also.. what makes it more fustrating the women blamed the ambulance for impeding her on to the roundabout... i just blatently laughed in her face.. annoying
