    News Photo Competition - September

This month's competition theme is "Streams, Rivers and Waterways", as chosen by muttleymacclad.

Closing date will be the 23rd.

Please read the rules below before posting your entry.

    Rules:

    • Must be your own work.

    • Only 1 entry each.

    • Entries can be changed once during the competition if you feel you've taken a better shot, but please make a separate post with the new entry and edit out your old image from your previous post, to keep things in the correct chronological order.

    • Max file size 800x600 250KB. (There's info on optimising your image size in the sticky of the same name)

Pictures to be embedded into your post in this thread rather than attached. (Use a free image host that allows hot linking such as imageshack or photobucket and encase the direct link in [IMG][/IMG] tags. There's a quick guide on how to do it here)

    • Entries should to be taken for the competition rather than entering a previously shot image.

    • Photoshop (or other imaging software) use is allowed, to enhance your image, but please remember this competition is about producing the best photo not the best piece of artwork.

The sea in Herne Bay is far from clear mate............ I see turds in there sometimes

I dont think it should count really but why dont you suggest it as another topic that can be selected in the future?

I don't think sea should be included either. the problem with it being a separate topic is that many people might not be able to get to the coast in the 3 weeks of the comp. Perhaps "ponds, lakes and sea"?

Like that a lot neo. Especially where the waterfall hits the pool below.

i really like that, i love the reflections, but its a shame there is a traffic cone (i think) stuck in the middle of your forground, kinda draws my attention.

Maybe i should take some pictures, but i dont know anything about photography, and i have a samsung S830

    its good for taking mediocre shots, but not ones that are good enough for competition}

    what do you think?

P.S. Good luck with the comp everybody :beer

Dude, take some pics anyway . I think I'd be right in saying that what the judges are looking for is not always necessarily absolute amazing quality but thought and imagination when taking the pic

Great shot m8, but.......I'm afraid it can't be used for the comp, as per the rules:

It does... but I reckon you spoiled it a bit by leaving the closeup strands of grass in shot. Pity...
