I shot it at water level, the location is lucky enough to have a small slip way leading to a sluice gate, I jumped the fence went down the slip way and set me tripod up in the water.. (Never been afraid to get wet feet to get the shot), the river is opens out into a tidal estuary that on large tides races up the river to just past the boat. With the combo of a dropping large tide and heavy flow of water coming down the river and the shallow bed it created the rippling effect.
I used a slow shutter speed of 1/4 sec with f/18 to smooth the water ripples a little and to capture the rising mist. Think it worked pretty well. Ideally I would have liked a little more fluffy clouds in the sky, as using Lightroom and reducing the blue channel would have created a much more dramatic sky similar to neo2810's, but you can't have everything.

This is my entry for this month, just been to Pen Y Ghent today (one of the three peaks in Yorkshire) saw this and thought id enter it.
here's my effort - was hoping to get something much better but didn't get out much.
